The Captain's Tales is a book where the author Eden Ibrahim, a former Captain now retired, tells 34 stories, each one in one chapter, about the cases he managed as Master on four Brazilian containerships crossing the Atlantic Ocean between Europe and the Americas during the 1990s. The histories were told in a simple way as it was possible to reach the reader's novice in the subjects of maritime transportation. The reader will be illustrated with various situations in more than 20 ports in Europe and the Americas as well the Atlantic crossings. The tales include nautical and machinery subjects. All were inspired by real happenings but the names and dates were not told to protect people. Some are very simple, almost comic, and others tragic and complex.
